House to Re-open
After closing the House for the '08-'09 academic year, the Graduate Trusteeship is pleased and excited to announce that the Chapter will be reopening in the Fall of '09. While many challenges are ahead of us in bringing FIJI back to prominence at Bucknell, we strongly feel that the year of closure was beneficial in allowing us to potentially make a new name for ourselves on campus. In this regard, approximately 20 freshmen have signed leases to live in the House in the Fall. We anticipate that they will become pledges and, with the guidance of the few remaining upper class men that are on campus, be the cornerstone of a large pledge class -- we would hope between 25-35 men -- that will allow us to take the first step in reviving the Chapter. The 20 young men include approximately 15 current or former varsity athletes (two of which are legacies) and represent a diverse group that is strong both academically and socially.

Also, please mark your calendars for September 12, 2009. This is the first home football game and we tentatively are planning to have some FIJI alumni events that weekend (golf, tailgate, etc.) to welcome new pledges and celebrate the re-opening of the House.

We’re excited to introduce a new place in our new alumni community, where you can interact directly with groups of Phi Gamma Delta brothers. You can participate in the brotherhood community, create a new group for you and your friends, or join an existing one! Within each group’s page, the members have control over the content.
